The IMF initiated a revision to its monetary and financial statistical standards in 2011.This paper systematically analyzes the main issues for this latest revision as well as the impact of the revision.The main issues could be classified into five categories:conceptions and classification;accounting methods;monetary statistics;financial statistics;and other issues.The revision has made the framework more consistent with other international standards of statistics.The revision will have an important influence on the practice of monetary and financial statistics.
